Journeys and funnels
Follow individual customers from first visit to payment and see where visitors drop off.
Journey
The Journey tab of the Goals card shows how visitors got to a goal. Pick the goal in the menu next to the tabs: Payment (the default) lists your most recent new paying customers; any other goal lists the most recent visitors (up to 40) who completed it in the selected period, with the dashboard's filters applied.
Each row shows the source, how long they took from their first visit, when they completed the goal and, for paying customers, the amount spent with a Customer badge. Click a row to expand the timeline: each visit and where it came from, the goals they completed, and the goal or payment itself, up to the last 12 touchpoints.
Names come from identify (or the payment's customer name); other visitors get a short generated name like Visitor 3f9a. On public share links names are masked.
User
The User tab lists visitors seen in the selected period (most recent first, up to 200), not only customers: name, country, latest source, last seen, visits, pageviews and total spent. Switch between All, Identified (visitors you sent identify for, with their email shown to members) and Customers. Paying visitors carry a Customer badge. The search box filters by name, email, country or source.
Funnel
The Funnel tab shows how many visitors went through a sequence of steps, in order, within the selected period. A visitor counts for a step only if they completed it at or after the step before. Each step shows its visitors, the share of step 1 that got there and the drop-off from the previous step; the header shows overall conversion. Dashboard filters apply.
Every site starts with an automatic Default funnel:
- Visited site (any page)
- Viewed your pricing page (the most-visited page whose path contains
pricing; left out if there is none) - Checkout initiated (the
checkout_initiatedgoal if you send it, otherwise your most common goal) - Payment (a first payment attributed to the visitor)
Custom funnels
Members and owners can click New funnel in the Funnel tab, name it and add 2 to 8 steps. Each step is one of:
| Step | Matches |
|---|---|
| Page | A pageview whose path equals the value, e.g. /pricing. * matches any characters: /blog/* is every blog post, * alone is any page. |
| Goal | A custom goal by name, e.g. signup. Optionally only when one of its properties has a value, e.g. plan = pro. |
| Payment | A first payment attributed to the visitor. |

Pick a saved funnel from the menu to view it; your choice is remembered in this browser. Edit renames it, changes or reorders steps, or deletes it. Funnels are saved per website (up to 20) and visible to everyone with access, including public share links (read only).
Funnels, journeys and the User tab are part of the Growth and Scale plans (and the free trial). On Starter, the tabs show an upgrade prompt; funnels you saved earlier are kept and come back when you upgrade.
Goal
The Goal tab lists every goal with its count and the share of visitors who completed it, plus new payments as a Payment goal.
