trakily.

Quickstart

Add your site, install the script and see your first visitor and payment in about five minutes.

1. Add your website

  1. 1

Create an account. Every new account starts a 14-day trial with no card needed.

  2. 2

On Which site should we track?, enter your domain without https:// (for example example.com) and check the timezone. The timezone decides when “today” starts in your reports.

  3. 3

Click Add website. You become the site's owner, and the next step shows your install snippet.

2. Install the script

Paste this into the <head> of every page. Your snippet in the app already has your real website id (it starts with pls_) and domain filled in.

index.html
<script
  defer
  data-website-id="pls_…"
  data-domain="example.com"
  src="https://trakily.com/js/script.js"
></script>

Using a framework or site builder? There are step-by-step pages for Next.js, React, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Framer and Google Tag Manager.

3. Check that it works

Deploy, then open your live site in a normal browser window. The install step polls every three seconds and switches to Receiving events as soon as the first pageview arrives. You can also check later in Settings → Tracking.

Nothing arriving?
  • Testing on localhost? The script ignores localhost unless you add data-allow-localhost="true" to the tag, and the server only accepts events from hostnames that belong to your site, so localhost events are rejected unless Accept any hostname is on in Settings → General. The easiest check is your deployed site.
  • Different domain? Events are only accepted from your domain, its subdomains and any additional domains listed in Settings → General.
  • Inside an iframe or preview? The script doesn't track inside iframes, so site-builder previews and editors won't send events.
  • Excluded yourself? If trakily_ignore is set to true in your browser's localStorage, your visits are skipped.
  • Add data-debug="true" to the tag and open the browser console: the script logs what it sends, or why it is disabled.

4. Connect revenue (optional, recommended)

Go to Settings → Revenue and connect your payment provider with a restricted key. Trakily imports your full payment history, keeps it in sync, and links new payments to visitors. For the strongest attribution, pass the visitor id into your checkout as described on your provider's page.

5. Track your first goal

Add a data-trakily-goal attribute to the button or link that matters most, such as your signup button:

<a href="/auth/signup" data-trakily-goal="signup">Start free trial</a>

Goals show up in the Goal tab of the dashboard. See Goals and custom events for properties and the JavaScript API.
